Ski Chatel and the Portes du Soleil on one inclusive lift pass
Chatel is a traditional farming village at the eastern side of the Portes du Soleil ski domain on the border with Switzerland. Ski Chatel and you will experience one of the best kept secrets of skiing in Europe.
Ski Chatel and you have the choice of two areas:
Super Chatel, excellent for beginners, which links in with the wider La Chapelle d’Abondance ski area and Torgon and Morgins on the Swiss side. This combined area has plenty to offer all levels of skier and boarder and benefits from being relatively quiet, in particular in those really busy weeks of the school holidays – so ski Chatel and avoid the crowds!. Another advantage is that the slopes are predominately tree-lined, great on powder days, and you also benefit from the stunning views across the Rhone valley and onto Lake Geneva.
The second area, Pre la Joux, has lots of blue and red runs, a couple of black runs and lots of astonishing off piste which is easily accessible from the express lifts. It also links directly into the French side of the Portes du Soleil. Ski Chatel and you have a real choice of what type of skiing you want to do.
If this is not enough, then you can also ski Chatel and the Portes du Soleil on one ski pass, thus giving you more options than you could possibly explore in one holiday. That’s why people keep coming back!
The Portes du Soleil is the largest internationally linked ski area in Europe, offering 650 KM of pisted runs (35 green runs, 106 blue runs, 100 red runs, 25 black run including the infamous ‘Swiss Wall’ and the Coupe du Monde ladies downhill , 4 itinerary routes, 10 snowparks and 6 half pipes. And remember you can ski Chatel and the whole region all on one pass.
So a ski holiday in Chatel gives you access to:
