La Ferme du Chateau is a quality, owner run chalet located in the Portes du Soleil area of the French Alps. Being just 1 hour 30 minutes from Geneva airport we are well situated to offer short breaks, long weekends as well as week long winter and summer holidays.
This traditional alpine farmhouse dates back to 1680 and in 2008 we transformed it into a luxury chalet offering our guests the best of the traditional along with all the comforts of the modern world. La Ferme du Chateau has 6 large en-suite bedrooms accommodating up to 18 people, exceptionally spacious lounge and dining area with log fire, 2 south facing balconies, outdoor sunken jacuzzi and views across the Mont de Grange nature reserve.
We pride ourselves on delivering an excellent standard of service in a relaxed environment and it is this approach which attracts guests year after year (after year).
WINTER
The picturesque Savoyard village of La Chapelle d’Abondance is perfectly positioned on the French-Swiss border, surrounded by majestic mountains and sitting at the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area. The skiing area has 650km of pisted runs, plenty of off piste and over 70 lifts - all accessible just down the road from us!
The Portes du Soleil ski area is the largest internationally linked ski region in Europe covering resorts in both Switzerland & France.
SUMMER
The Portes du Soleil region is an irresistible year-round destination. With 640km of marked hiking routes and more than 25 lifts open throughout June, July and August to help you navigate your way round the valleys.
650km of world class enduro and downhill mountain biking ensures that the area is kept busy over the summer months.
Mountain biking, hiking, climbing, white water activities, trekking & paragliding are just some of the things you could get up to on a holiday in the area. With Lake Geneva close at hand you can spend the day at a beach soaking up the sun and swimming in the fresh lake water.
